Care Instructions for Cyanotype Clothing
This garment features cyanotype printing, a UV light-reactive dye process that has been fixed to the fabric. While beautiful and unique, cyanotype requires special care to maintain its vibrant color.
Important Notes:
Cyanotype will naturally fade over time and may shift in color with exposure to light and washing
Improper washing can cause discoloration or premature fading
Always follow the care instructions below to preserve your piece
Washing Instructions:
Wash sparingly, only when necessary
Turn garment inside out before washing
Hand wash only with phosphate-free liquid soap (castile soap or natural orange laundry wash work well)
Do not use: borax, Oxyclean, washing soda, powdered detergents, baking soda, washing salts, or bleach
Air dry or tumble dry alone on low heat
Do not dry in direct sunlight
Handle with care—sweat and hand oils can cause discoloration
If Fading Occurs: If you notice fading, a diluted hydrogen peroxide bath followed by a thorough rinse can help restore the color.
